The Survivors Girls Softball Team was initiated about 15 years ago by aspiring young teenagers residing in the area of Belvedere eager to learn the sport.

One day they had an idea to ask their neighbor, a well-known coach, Mr. Ashton Lake, to train them. After gaining some confidence in the sport, they asked their coach to enter them into the competition league, with the mindset that despite it all they would survive.

The team began under the name Starlite and then changed to Survivors. Frequently using the term "Only the Strong Survive", the new team was formed under the name Survivors; standing strong up to this date.

 

The Survivors team is mainly composed of teenagers ranging from fourteen years old; however the manager Mr. Ashton Lake coaches girls from as young as five years old in the hopes of also creating a Young Survivors team. The survivors team, headed by Mr. Ashton Lake, Mr. Ricardo Richardson, Mr. Maurits Elisa, and Ms. Jamila Olvier, is distinguished by camaraderie and goal-oriented despite age differences.

 

Our senior players put much effort into the younger players and are tirelessly committed to improving the skills of every player who joins the team. The present focus of the team is to elevate our players' skills to a level to travel annually to compete in away tournaments to get first-hand experience on how great they can become.
